A compass does not clear the terrain, and a structure does not build itself. You shape yourself through disciplined choices and accountable actions, guided by WayFinders to move forward with composure, courage, and confidence when the path is hard.

Our Mission

The mission of WayFinder Initiative is to provide mentorship, leadership training, and life-skills development for at-risk middle school boys by engaging military veterans as mentors in a structured, community-based model. Through school-aligned squads, the program addresses the male mentor gap by building resilience, discipline, and brotherhood, blending personal challenge and academic support to develop the skills needed for success in school and the character required to lead in life with purpose and impact.

Our Approach

  1. Long Term Challenge: We partner with a Middle School, or other similar organization, for an extended period of time to have deliberate and enduring impacts in at-risk boys’ lives.

  2. Seasonal Initiatives: We support initiatives that aim to mitigate risk youth face during certain periods of the year (Summer break, Spring break, etc.).

  3. Single Day/Impact Events: We support short-duration events that serve the Youth of DC.

Our Values

Discipline, Accountability, Self-Determination, Composure, Courage, Confidence
